No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Newcastle

At Ronin Newcastle, our primary focus is No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling.

No-Gi Jiu Jitsu is practised in a rash guard and shorts rather than the traditional Gi. Training focuses on positional control, takedowns, guard passing, escapes, submissions and live grappling.

Our classes combine technical instruction, structured drilling, positional sparring and live rounds so students can develop practical skills against resisting training partners.

You do not need any previous martial arts or grappling experience to start.

Jiu Jitsu Classes for Beginners

f you have never trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu before, our Fundamentals classes are the best place to start.

The Fundamentals program introduces the core positions, movements and concepts of Jiu Jitsu in a structured environment. You will learn how to move safely, control an opponent, escape difficult positions and begin using submissions.

Beginners are also welcome at selected All Levels classes.

There is no expectation that you arrive fit or experienced. Fitness and confidence develop naturally as you train.
